Mobile application for the HPC

In cooperation with the IT Department of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, a mobile application has been developed and released, aimed at providing information and support to individuals seeking asylum. This application is the result of joint planning, development, and implementation, and represents a significant step forward in ensuring functional, accessible, and transparent assistance for persons in the process of seeking international protection.

Technical infrastructure and data protection

For the purposes of this project, the team successfully implemented and configured the administrative system and integrated the application with its accompanying API, hosted on servers owned by the Ministry of the Interior. Hosting the infrastructure within the state network further ensures a high level of protection of personal and sensitive data. This guarantees system stability, reliability, and compliance with applicable data protection regulations, which is particularly important when dealing with users in legally and socially vulnerable positions.

Digital access to information and services

The mobile application is available for Android and iOS devices via the official app stores — Google Play and Apple App Store. This distribution strategy ensures maximum accessibility, given the widespread use of smartphones among users. The application is designed for daily use, with an intuitive interface that allows asylum seekers to easily access relevant content. It provides crucial information, including key contacts, explanations of rights and responsibilities, procedural guidance, and links to institutions and organizations that offer support.

Functionality in service of human rights

The application is intended to serve not merely as a passive information source, but as an active tool for orientation and decision-making within the asylum process. It facilitates communication, timely access to information, and enhances legal clarity for individuals. The platform also strengthens institutional capacity for clear, consistent, and multilingual communication, thereby improving accountability and service quality.

Development rooted in collaboration and expertise

The project was carried out through close coordination among legal experts, IT professionals, and representatives of the Ministry. Every component of the application was based on a needs assessment to ensure that the solution was both technically effective and socially relevant. The project followed rigorous data management and security protocols, achieving a high level of professionalism throughout all implementation phases.

Next steps in development

The launch of the mobile application marks only the initial phase in the broader digitalization of support services for asylum seekers in the Republic of Croatia. Continuous development is planned, including additional features such as multilingual support, integration with other platforms, and optimization based on user feedback. The focus remains on maintaining service quality, increasing accessibility, and building trust between institutions and users of the international protection system.
