Touchscreen info display | Varaždin Technology Park

For Varaždin Technology Park, Prolink developed an interactive presentation intended for touch display devices—the project combines advanced technologies and a modern way of displaying informational content, enabling visitors to independently explore each floor of the Technology Park building and receive clear and useful information about the space, contents, and function of each segment within the facility. The goal was to create an intuitive orientation tool that would allow visitors, especially those coming for the first time, to quickly navigate the space and easily access information about tenants and their activities, without the need for additional instructions or staff assistance.

Use of 3D models for spatial orientation

As part of the interactive presentation, highly detailed three-dimensional models of all building floors were implemented—each model was developed in accordance with architectural drawings to provide the user with a realistic view of the space and enable easy orientation. Models were created with special emphasis on dimensional precision, accurate room positions, availability of communication paths, and tenant locations within the building. The building surroundings were additionally digitally reconstructed, contributing to a sense of spatial authenticity and giving the user the impression of moving through real space, even though they are standing in front of a touchscreen device in the lobby.

Technical execution in the Unity3D development environment

The entire application was created in the Unity3D development platform, which enabled the use of advanced features such as dynamic interactivity, optimized 3D graphics, and responsive interface design—Unity3D is particularly suitable for developing applications displayed on interactive screens because it supports a high degree of customization, integration with various types of sensors, and touch input controls. Thanks to this technology, smooth and intuitive content management was achieved without the need for additional user instructions—the application responds to touch instantly, animations are fluid, and transitions between different views are natural and easily understandable.

Interactive navigation and display of content information

Special attention was paid to how users access information—through the touch-sensitive interface, users can select a specific floor, click on a particular part of the space, and receive information about its function, current tenants, and associated contact details. The system also supports search by tenant name, service type, or activity, facilitating navigation through a larger amount of information—a visitor looking for a specific company does not have to browse all floors but can simply enter the name and the system will show the exact location. Information is structured to be clear but substantive, adapted to the shorter time users spend on individual items—without unnecessary details, but with enough data for the user to get everything they need.

Functionality in real usage conditions

During the creation and testing of the presentation, we were guided by real usage conditions—we had an actual touch display device on which the application would be used, which allowed us to optimize performance for the specific hardware. Special focus was placed on system response speed, stability of displaying complex 3D elements, and reliability of interactive functions—the system was tested in simulated usage conditions by end users, with all elements of application behavior carefully documented and adapted to visitor expectations. Testing included various usage scenarios, from simple floor browsing to specific searches, to ensure the application works flawlessly in all situations.

The role of the presentation in representing the Technology Park

In addition to serving as an informational tool, this interactive presentation acts as a communication bridge between visitors and the contents offered by Varaždin Technology Park—for first-time visitors, it enables quick familiarization with the location, available contents, and tenant identities. Through quality graphic presentation and advanced technology, the technological character of the building and its position as a regional center of innovation, development, and entrepreneurship is further emphasized—the application itself becomes an example of the technological advancement that the Park promotes, further strengthening its brand and positioning.

Plans for further development and expansions

The interactive presentation is conceived modularly, which enables easy addition of new content, floors, tenants, or additional functionalities—planned upgrades include the possibility of real-time database connection, display of available rental spaces, and advanced filtering by activity. This transforms the application not only into an orientation tool but also into a platform for commercial presentation of space and stimulation of business activity within the Technology Park—potential tenants can easily browse available spaces, see their size and position within the building, and receive basic information about rental conditions, all through the same intuitive application.

Why Varaždin Technology Park chose Prolink for touchscreen presentation development

When selecting a partner for the development of this interactive presentation, Varaždin Technology Park sought a team that not only possesses technical competencies for working with 3D models and the Unity3D platform but also understands the importance of user experience and the specifics of spatial orientation in public institutions. Prolink's development approach encompasses analysis of real user needs, definition of optimal interaction methods, and implementation of solutions that naturally fit into the environment where they are used. Throughout the project, from initial consultations and space analysis to 3D model creation and testing on the actual device, collaboration proceeded through regular agreements and adjustments based on feedback from Park staff and visitors.
