As part of the Epicentar Sequoia Slatina project, we developed a specialized touchscreen application designed to accurately record visitor numbers for a newly opened tourist attraction. The solution is based on a web application fully optimized for touch interaction, enabling straightforward use without additional peripherals. It was designed as a simple, efficient and stable system intended for continuous operation, with an administrative interface that supports structured data analysis and ongoing system management. Throughout development, the focus was placed on intuitive interaction, fast system response, visual clarity and reliable data handling.
Technical structure and system architecture
The application is built using HTML, CSS and JavaScript as the core technologies, ensuring broad compatibility with various touchscreen devices and operating environments. This approach allows fast loading, smooth interaction and stable performance in kiosk mode. The system consists of two interconnected yet clearly separated components: the public-facing interface for visitors at the attraction site and the administrative interface for authorized personnel. This division improves data security, simplifies maintenance and provides clearer functional distribution between user groups. The administrative level includes protective measures that safeguard stored data, while the visitor-facing interface is optimized for simplicity and reliability in everyday use.
Administrative interface and visitor analytics
The administration module serves as the central hub for monitoring and managing all data collected through the touchscreen device. It provides structured statistics across different time periods, including graphical indicators, numeric summaries and automatically generated trend analyses. The interface is designed to be accessible even to users without technical expertise, allowing them to easily interpret results, compare data and export information for additional reporting or strategic planning. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, transparency and straightforward usability, enabling the system to become a practical tool for evaluating the attraction’s performance and supporting informed decision-making.
Role of the touchscreen interface in on-site visitor interaction
The touchscreen application is the primary point of interaction for visitors and is installed directly on-site at the tourist attraction. Its interface is intentionally minimalist, ensuring ease of use for individuals who may be unfamiliar with digital technologies. Instructions and input options are displayed clearly, enabling fast registration of visitor presence without the need for staff intervention. All interactions are recorded in real time and immediately synchronized with the administrative system. Particular attention was given to responsiveness, touch accuracy and visual readability, ensuring smooth operation in various lighting conditions and for all types of users.
Practical value and long-term benefits of the system
The application developed for the Epicentar Sequoia Slatina project provides significant practical advantages. Beyond accurate visitor tracking, it enables long-term monitoring of public interest, fluctuations in attendance and seasonal trends. These insights are crucial for strategic planning, marketing activities and evaluation of project effectiveness. The system is built on a scalable and stable infrastructure, allowing it to be expanded or adapted for other locations or types of attractions. This makes it a sustainable and cost-effective solution with long-term value for local tourism development and cultural initiatives.
